In 1987 Cathy Jeffers and I published 50 copies or so of The Family Records of Jackson Polk Tinch.

Polk was the son of Anderson Tinch of Fentress County Tennessee and the father of Timothy Grant Tinch, Anderson Colfax Tinch, Titus Franklin Tinch, Mary Alice Tinch, Alexander George Tinch, John C. Tinch, William Harvey Tinch, and Andrew Jackson Tinch.

Cathy and I took over the work from Mrs. Dona Hiser, who by 1987 was 80-years-old and unable to complete the work by herself.

We sold our 50 copies or so and still had requests a few years later.

The records themselves have not been updated since 1987. But we have added some material not in the original. This Ebook should prove useful for research and will be treasured by family members. There is quite a lot of valuable information. The Ebook presents the material as a pdf file to be read on your computer or printed out. It includes the following sections:

Jackson Polk Tinch was born in Allardt, Tennessee on 12/17/1848 to Anderson Tinch. He died 11/7/1935 and was buried in the Tinch Cemetery. Polk married Sarah A. Epsum. Sarah was born in Allardt, Tennessee on 3/3/1849. She died on 12/30/1930. Polk and Sarah had eight children: Timothy Grant (1); Anderson Colfax (2); Titus Franklin (3); Mary Alice (4); Alexander George (5); John C. (6); William Harvey (7); and Andrew Jackson (8).

(1) Timothy Grant Tinch was born in Allardt, Tennessee on 7/28/1968 to Jackson Polk Tinch and Sarah A. Epsum. He attended the Baptist Freewill Church in Tinchtown. He died 11/28/1949 and was buried in the Tinch Cemetery. Timothy married Huldah Harriett Brown on 11/11/1888. Huldah was born on 2/27/1870 in Allardt, Tennessee. She died 10/14/1955 and was buried in the Tinch Cemetery. Timothy and Huldah had. ten children: Era Alice (9); Lillie Louise (10); Baby Girl (11); James Polk (12); Clara Edith (13); John Patrick (14); Lola Mae (15); Arthur Elbert (Peanut) (16); Hugo Clarence (17); and Sadie Cindrella (18).

(2) Anderson Colfax Tinch was born in Allardt, Tennessee on 2/26/1870 to Jackson Polk Tinch and Sarah A. Epsum. He died on 6/23/1945 and. was buried in the Tinch Cemetery. Anderson married Amanda Catherine Short on 11/19/1889. Amanda was born in Board Valley, Tennessee (Putnam County) on 3/10/1875 to James Short and Ellen Foster. Amanda died 11/6/1956 and was buried in the Tinch Cemetery. Anderson and Amanda had eleven children: Etta Belle (19); Sanford Winstead (20); Ferry Sibley (21); Roxie Nevada (22); Stella Ransie (23); Hewey Bonhomie (24); Hazel Flora (25); Eska Roma (26); Oscar Raymond (27); Delta (28); and Juanita (29).

(3) Titus Franklin Tinch was born in Allardt, Tennessee on 2/2/1872 to Jackson Polk Tinch and Sarah A. Epsum. lie attended the Freewill Baptist Church in Tinchtown. He died on 9/24/1961 and was buried in the Tinch Cemetery. He married Rhoda Ann Blair in 1890. Rhoda was born in Allardt, Tennessee on 3/28/1873 to Willie Blair. She died 10/28/1947 and was buried in the Tinch Cemetery. Titus and Rhoda had twelve children: William Anderson (30); Luther (31); Lydia Ellen (32); Dora F. (33); Hobert (34); Nellie Ruth (35); Mabel Dorothy (36); Etha Lee (37); Infant Son (38); Erna Lewallen (39); Walter Franklin (40); and Loina Iris (41).

(4) Mary Alice Tinch was born in Allardt, Tennessee on 4/18/1874 to Jackson Polk Tinch and Sarah A. Epsum. She died 5/26/1951 and was buried in Burrville, Tennessee (Morgan County). She married Charles H. Cromwell on 9/6/1903. Mary and Charles had four children: Fred Earl (42); Clyde (43); Cleo (44); and Carl Fenton (45).

(5) Alexander George Tinch was born in Allardt, Tennessee on 10/21/1880 to Jackson Polk Tinch and Sarah A. Epsum. He died 7/11/1970 and was buried in the Tinch Cemetery. He married Abigale Owens in 1897. Abigale was born on 12/11/1876 to Thomas Owens. She died 9/28/1948 and was buried in the Tinch Cemeterv. Alexanderand Abigale had five children: Bertha Lee (46); Mary Mae (47); Proctor Laughten (48); Charlotte Elva (49); and Truman (50).

(6) John C. Tinch was born in Allardt, Tennessee on 6/13/1883 to Jackson Polk Tinch and Sarah A. Epsum. He died 2/24/1972 in the Fentress County Hospital and was buried in the Roanoke Cemetery. John married Mahala "Mae" Evans on I/l/1903 in Allardt, Tennessee. (family photo) Mahala died on 6/5/1962 and was buried in the Roanoke Cemetery. John C. and Mahala had four children: Vera Ohma (51); Dona Ora (52); Gladys Annetta (53) and Orville Edison (54).

(7) William Harvey Tinch was born in Allardt, Tennessee on 6/7/1885 to Jackson Polk Tinch and Sarah A. Epsum. He died 5/9/1959 and was buried in the Tinch Cemetery. He married Francis Ada Brooks on 5/17/1905. Francis was born 3/4/1886 in Allardt, Tennessee. She died on 8/2/1962 and was buried in the Tinch Cemetery. William and Francis had three children: Charles Everett (55); Ivan Lee (56); and Flora Violet (57).

(8) Andrew Jackson Tinch was born in Allardt, Tennessee on 4/21/1888 to Jackson Polk Tinch and Victoria Owens (Johnson). He was raised in the home of Jackson and Sarah. Andrew died 4/6/1937 in Sunbright, Tennessee and was buried in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. He married Flossie Brooks on 5/18/1906. Flossie was born on 4/17/1890 in Allardt, Tennessee to Aaron Brooks and Mary Jane Hicks. She died on 7/3/1978 in Burrville, Tennessee and was buried in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Sunbright, Tennessee. Andrew and Flossie (see photos) had nine children: Jessie Opal (58); Bethel Ernest (59); Delbert Leroy (60); Bradford Andrew (61); Haskell Leamon (62); Hershall Archie (63); Dorothy Jewell (64); Beatrice (65); and Herman Benjamin (66). ...........
